Why Do They Choose To Travel
  1. SCIENCE OF TRAVELLING – ELUCIDATED

    1. Why Do We Choose to Travel? Staying home, enjoying drinks and pizzas, watching Sunday night football games, going for long drives with friends, dancing for hours, reading a few pages before bed time, and indulging in a morning run before going to work.  This is all a part of our everyday lives. In today’s fast paced world, spending money on non-material things is often considered an unnecessary risk. However, there are certain activities which deserve being spent upon. Travel, both locally and internationally, emerges as one of the top activities which everyone should experience, if given a chance. Deciding how and where to travel is just a matter of determining what you can afford and what destinations excite you the most. In order to determine what type of traveler you want to be, consider these common reasons for traveling:
    • For Friends & Family: When family and close friends are located in other countries, people often plan travels to visit them. In the case of immigrants, going back to your home country can be an extremely pleasurable form of travel.
    • For the Love of Nature and Beauty:  Around the world, over a span of centuries, millions of locations full of natural beauty and wonder have been discovered by humans. In the past, it was very rare that these places were known and available to every man. However, globalization has opened these travel opportunities to even the most common dweller. People want to see with their own eyes the beauty that is being shared by their friends and the media. Such trips can be planned with family, friends, couples and even solo.
    • Travel for Work: Work is one of the most common reasons, besides tourism, where people leave their homes and travel to other cities and countries. Some do it out of sheer necessity, however, a few enthusiasts love changing occupations and locations for the fun and pleasure they experience in their travels.
    • Travel for Business: Long term travelers are people who have recurrent requirements away from their hometowns. These include businessmen, patients, sports teams, military people deployed out of their countries, and more. Business travelers mostly remain engaged in their meetings, official visits, and coordinated plans. However, the remaining categories surely have more time to take advantage of their visits.
    • Travel for The Love of Historical Places:  History and ancient architecture attract the most travelers today. Visiting historical places all over the world has become a craze for younger and older generations alike. Reading about places of historical value is a pleasure but seeing with your own eyes is even better and has become a passion for many travelers. Further, the economic costs of such travels have been greatly reduced, if compared to half a century back, thereby attracting more and more travelers.
    • See, Feel, and Enjoy Different Cultures:  Visiting countries with diverse cultures and indulging in new activities, for both fun and education, have also become an increased travel craving. To fulfil this, group and even solo travelers visit areas where old traditions are still preserved, either by chance or by choice.
    • Travel Writers and Authors: It is an old custom for authors and writers to travel to places which they intend to include in their books. Gradually these travelers also become addicted to even more frequent travels. In the past, authors mainly traveled in order to get firsthand experience of the places that appeared in their books and stories. Today, an author may travel to many different parts of the world in order to simply expand their horizons, in turn shifting their developing works to include these new locations.
    • Spend Family Time Together: Spending family time together is often an uphill task in any society today. To remedy this, some families plan group travels to ensure uninterrupted times together. This not only strengthens their existing bonds, but also leads to greater love and care for each other.
    • Expedition Lovers:  Passionate people around the world are moved to hike mighty mountains. Some travel outside of their home country in order to explore and experience new, exciting expeditions. Others desire to challenge themselves and reach the summits of well known peaks.
    • Travelling for Research: Much of the world around us still remains undiscovered of its potentials and treasures. Scientists are constantly discovering new information and new inventions are created every day. These discoveries and inventions often lead many researchers to travel to the farthest reaches of the world. Their passion and loyalty to the cause has no bounds. Gradually these people may also become routine travelers for the love of traveling itself!
    • Travelling for Love of Sports and Adventures: Traveling to witness sporting events or participate in them, either as a solo traveler or as a team, is a routine matter these days. Some plan to watch a sporting event spontaneously, in the midst of their other travel plans. Others plan their travels to revolve completely around witnessing or participating in their favorite sporting events.
    • Travelling as Backpackers: Solo backpack travel is one of the cheapest methods to have fun. For a very reasonable amount of money, these travelers not only enjoy the pleasure of long journeys but also indulge in adventurous activities all around the world. Backpacking is often considered one of the best forms of travel because they spend less time in their rooms. They keep rolling, tweaking their plans to experience the best of each of their travel destinations.
    • Food Lovers: Another category of travelers are food lovers. To some readers, it may be surprising that people travel for food but it is reality. Travel allows many to experience the diverse tastes of different countries and regions around the world!
    1. Gains from Travelling
    • Self Confidence is one of the greatest outcomes of traveling, especially to those young people who adopt this hobby. Travelers are able to experience handling different situations, communicating with people of diverse languages and cultures, and learning more about other countries. Traveling also provides a sense of achievement.
    • Travels are a great way to increase your knowledge of multiple aspects of life, including new customs and norms different from our own.
    • Spending your money on traveling, both by yourself and with your family, often provides many with a lot of satisfaction.
    • New avenues for establishing relationships based in love, friendship, and even business are opened by leaving your home for short trips and longer travel.
    • Getting enough time for yourself is one of the most difficult tasks these days, where the race for constant professional progress never lets us be free for even a moment. By traveling, we are able to get away and rejuvenate.
    • “Dreams have no bounds”, as it is said. Everyone has a dream. However, very few have the passion to make their dreams come true. Some wish to see the Pyramids, others plan to visit Roam at least once in their life. Some dream of visiting Venice while others aim to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower and enjoy the view of Paris from the top. Many long to have a nap on a warm sunny beach in Anatolia. To a few, just getting to fly in an airplane would be a dream come true! Traveling is often the best means to bring your dreams to life.
    • Some people are born looking for a challenge. They reach for goals that most of us would never even consider. They are at their happiest when attempting to summit the likes of Mount Everest. They travel thousands of miles for a challenging hike and experience an altogether different level of gratification.
